  23. Is there a possibility to disable the (or some) internal Key-commands 
  24. like Alt-X, Alt-=, Alt-Z, etc., while in connect mode (terminal 
  25. emulation)? I could re-define the keys of course, but a command like 
  26. 'disable ...' would be nicer (?). Also the normal escape character ^] 
  27. is on our wishlist for disabling.
  28. The reason:
  29. We want to use MS-kermit 3.13 for making an automated script-directed 
  30. TCP/IP connection to a HP9000/720 unix host, login, run a program on 
  31. the host (only screen-info as output), logout, and return to DOS after 
  32. quitting the unix-application. During the session the user may not be 
  33. able to return to the KERMIT> prompt (Alt-X, or ^]C), may not access 
  34. the escape-menu (^].... for sending breaks, toggle capturing, etc., 
  35. etc.). However, all other ctrl- and alt-keys, and cursor controls 
  36. must remain intact.

  38. The script is running fine and everything that we want is working 
  39. O.K. (we love Kermit's scripting facilities!!). The only wish now is 
  40. to secure the procedure for the users to prevent unwanted effects 
  41. caused by accidentally used keys.

  43. Second question: Is it possible to use a DOS-environment variable in 
  44. a script-file in the output command? We have a DOS-variable 'GROUP' 
  45. which content we want to pass to the unix-host. I think we must use 
  46. someting like "$GROUP". Is this correct?
